I'm a bit behind in my blogging and the last few weeks have been hectic so this may take a while. I'm going to be as concise as possible.
Two weeks ago, against all advice and logic, me and a few fellow Epikers set off in the pouring rain to Jirisan National Park for a weekend of camping and hiking! We were umming and ahhing all day about whether we should go or not because of the weather but in the end we all wanted to get out of Daegu for a weekend so decided to risk it. After a long bus journey after work on the Friday, we arrived at the campsite in the pitch black and rain and then had the challenge of putting up the tents. Not fun. Luckily, there was a shelter where we could light a BBQ and chill out for the evening. We ate a lot and also made smores- a delicious American concoction of digestives, marshmallows and Hershey's chocolate.
On Saturday we got up and made a big breakfast of bacon and egg sandwiches then set off on a hike past a series of waterfalls. Jirisan looked so beautiful and thankfully the weather stayed pretty good all day. Saturday night involved more eating and drinking then a return to the big smoke on Sunday morning. I am so glad we went despite the weather , it turned into one of my best weekends/trips yet.
